Keeshond Fanciers
Rescue

Hello, this page may not be up to date because we are often busy with the furkids and not always online. Please call a rescue committee member (see below for contact numbers) if you are looking for the love of a Keeshond.

All our dogs are spayed or neutered prior to being adopted if they aren't already spayed or neutered when we rescue them.

Thanks!

Angel - 5 years old
Nitro Ragtop - 7 years old

We are two beautiful keesie & keesie-husky mix furkids who just lost our hooman. He went to sleep and didn't wake up, now we need a new forever family to luv us and make us safe again. We have good house manners so you don't have to worry about those pesky puppy issues. We play nice with other dogs and we are cool with cats. We really want to stay together because we have always been there for each other. But we talked it over and decided if someone wants only one of us, we would be ok with that too. Call and find out more about us.

Female - Shana - 12 years old
Male - Smokey - 9 years old

Dear God, When we get to the Pearly Gates, do we have to shake hands to get in?

Shana is a 12 year old kees-mix. She is house trained and is a very good watchdog. She gets along well with other dogs but likes to play hall monitor.
Ohhh, MAN!! Do you think I look like a sweet little Teddy Bear in my photo? Well, just wait until you meet me in person, because I'm 100 times cuter than my picture. It's true!! And I have an impeccably LOVING temperament to go with my adorable looks. I was found as a stray, if you can believe it! Who would lose track of precious little ME?? We are truly puzzled because I am a sweet little gentleman, through and through. I am so very quiet and amiable. Although everyone has treated me with the utmost kindness, I'm really looking for my forever home. I'm a middle-aged fella who just doesn't understand why I'm here! I'm clearly house-broken, house-trained, and have PERFECT manners. I wouldn't DREAM of chewing up anything, and I'm always available for petting and good loving. Why not ask to meet me? A more sweet and loyal companion can NOT be found! Please come meet me! I greet everyone with my humble and precious smile and all I ask in return is a belly rub and scratch that spot behind my ears. PS I seem to get along just fine with other friendly dogs, kids, and CATS.
Female - Wilma - 9-10 years old

Wilma is very talkative and expressive. She loves other dogs and is a very determined girl. She is currently on a weight loss program, having come into the program at 65 lbs. She has lost 15 pounds and hopes to lose another 12. Wilma is very devoted to humans.

Mandy - 7- 8 years old

Mandy has a weight issue that she will be working on. She came in at 75 lbs and has lost 13 lbs and is down to 62lbs. She has another 20 lbs to go. She is very sweet and loving. She will need a family that will pay a lot of attention to not let her replapse.

Dear God,
I've always lived at the shelter and I have everything I need. But many of the dogs here have names and I don't. Could you give me a name please? It would be good for my self-esteem.

Dear God,
When my foster family eats dinner they always bless their food. So, I've been wagging my tail extra fast when they fill my bowl. Have you noticed my own blessing?

Dear God,
I really enjoy our chats when you talk through the leaves. But most of all I really like it when you send the wind to hug me.

Dear God,
Is it true that dogs are not allowed in restaurants because we can't make up our minds what NOT to order? Or is it that carpet thing again?

Dear God, If we come back as humans, is that good or bad?

Dear God,
How come people love to smell flowers, but seldom, if ever, smell one another? Where are their priorities?

Dear God,
Excuse me, but why are there cars named after the jaguar, the cougar, the mustang, the colt, the stingray, and the rabbit, but not one named for a dog? How often do you see a cougar riding around? We dogs love a nice ride! I know every breed cannot have its own model, but it would be easy to rename the Porsche Boxster to the Porsche Boxer!

Dear God,
If a dog barks her head off in the forest and no human hears her, is she still a bad dog?

Dear God,
I hear that Christmas is when you made a new family for your little boy. Do you think you might be able to do that for me this year?

Dear God,
If I try really-really hard to be a good girl, can you find my forever mommy & daddy? I know they must be really sad because they can't find me.
