Peak to Peak
Keeshond Fanciers
Rescue

Hello, this page may not be up to date because we are often busy with the furkids and not always online. Please call a rescue committee member (see below for contact numbers) if you are looking for the love of a Keeshond.

All our dogs are spayed or neutered prior to being adopted if they aren't already spayed or neutered when we rescue them.

We also microchip all our dogs with a HomeAgain chip.

Thanks!

Brie - 1 year old Keeso - 9 years old
My new name is Brie. I don't think I've ever had a name before. They named me this because I am as sweet as any french cheese. I have a lot to learn because the place I came from didn't have the time to always feed me and teach me anything about living in a house, using a doggy door (I learned that very quick), or visiting the doggy doctor. I'm learning, but it will take time. Right now, I just have to get use to what it is like to finally become spoiled. I think I can handle it. Hi, my name is Keeso and I'm 9 years old/ I lost my family because they couldn't affort to buy my kibble anymore when they lost their job. People say that I am a very sweet boy but on the quiet side and I get along well with kids, dogs and cats, of which I have a great respect for cats. My house skills are very good, and prefer to be with people where ever they are. I like playing in water. Fill up the kiddie pool and I will lay down in it with you. I have a full coat, very handsome and will be the perfect lap dog.
Zhiva - 1 year old Smokee Joe - 6-7 years old
*adoption pending*
My new name is Zhiva.. I don't think I've ever had a name before but they named me this because they said I have a very curious nature and a need to inspect everything. I have a lot to learn because the place I came from didn't have the time to always feed me and teach me anything about living in a house, or visiting the doggy doctor. I'm learning, but it will take time. Right now, I just have to get use to what it is like to become spoiled rotten. I think I might like it. Hi there, my name is Smokee Joe but my foster mom calls me Smokee Joe Bar-B-Que. I come from a puppy mill in Missouri and never got to play and have fun. My muscles are getting use to running and playing so I'm getting better all the time. I am a bit timid around humans but I love other dogs. I need a human family that will give me time to get use to them. I do love my foster momma so I do know I can get use to other humans if they love me too.
Isabella - 8 - 10 years old Shiloh - 3 years old
Greetings, my name is Isabella. You can call me Izy, you can call me Bella or you can call me Isabella. In fact you probably won't have to call me at a;; because I will always be right there. I love being with peole. I only weigh 20 lbs and stand all of 14 1/2 inches tall. I was found wandering the streets and was taken to the humane society where they were about to give up on me but I'm sure glad that PPKF found me and took me home. I have very little fur on my backside because my thyroid was not working very well but now that I'm on medication I'm feeling much better. I've had my teeth cleaned and everything else seems to be working OK so I'm just sitting here trying to growing more fur. Until then I have the cutest t-shirts to keep me warm. I LOVE to snuggle and be picked up. If you don't pick me up, I will remind you that I really like being snuggled *wink*.. Hi!!! My name is Shiloh. Look no further, I'm the one you are looking for. I love humans and want to be your best friend. I tend to be a bit bossy with other dogs but will back off if they tell me "no".
Ruby - 7 years old Caleb - 4-6 years old
Hello friend, my name is Ruby. I was found wandering the streets of Cripple Creek. I have a heart murmur but the doctors say that I can lead a normal life as long as it isn't too active. I love playing games with flash lights and playing lazer tag.

Caleb is my name and I'm missing a few toes on my left front foot but I am told that the ladies love me. Coming from a puppy mill, I have a few things to learn about trusting human but I will sure try to learn them as soon as possible.

Ahni - 4-6 years old Trevor - 4-6 Years old
Hello friend, my name is Ahni. I was rescued from a puppy mill where things had been rough for a while. I am working on my house skills and I am afraid of the world. I get along well with my foster sisters. Please give me the time I need to become the Keeshond that I should have always been. I have already learned how to dance and to smile. My name is now Trevor the Traveler. I have a tendancy to wander so I need humans who can keep up with me. I love people and I can charm the socks of a tree so watch out. Dr G. says that she thinks I'm very handsome. She must know what she is talking about because after all she sees fuzzies all day long. Stop by and visit with me. Looks are free.
Allie - 4-6 years old

Hi there! Allie is the name I have at the moment. I came from the same puppy mill as Caleb and Ahni. I get along great with other dogs but I am rather timid around people. We are all having to learn the same things but then we will all be looking for new friends and families.
Pepper - 6 years old *adoption pending*

Hi! My name is Pepper. I am a very energenic and youthful 6 year old female ball of furry love. I lost my family when they split and could not longer meet my essential needs. I loved them very much and will miss them but I always try to make the most of my situation. I have settle in very quickly with my foster home. I have trained my foster family to allow me to cuddle (and I like to cuddle alot) while scratching my tummy. I have also trained my foster family to take me on walks. I love to explore and walk through the neightborhood meeting the neighbors and other dogs. I always greet them with a smile and a wag of my tail.

I am house and crate trained. However, if I have my choice I do not choose my crate very often. I prefer to hang out with the foster family. I am a submissive girl and can be very hard on myself when I think I have done something wrong. My foster family is teaching me that everyone makes mistakes and this is OK.

If things keep going this well, I hope my Foster family adopts me! I believe they just may be thinking the same!
